I have done some research on my mother's maiden name "Glenn".  I attended the Celtic New Year Celebration in Reno, and found that the name is listed as a Sept. How do I find out more information, on how the two became together? I have been told that I am part Scottish and want to find out more. If anyone can help please email me. Thanks, Brian

My Grandmother told me that her mother was a full blood Scot from Scotland. I've never investigated the genealogy, but the first time I ever went to a Scottish fair, I knew I was home. I went to our clan tent and was greeted by the nicest couple from Scotland I have ever met. If anyone knows of any way to solidify the records of my past for me I would be very grateful. All I would need to know is that my Great Grandmother was born in Scotland. That would be enough for me.

As far as I know my family roots only go back a McIntosh being the ships carpenter on one of the first immigrant ships to New Zealand in the early 1800's. He apparently me a girl on the voyage and they were married on the beach when they arrived. The local Maori's (native New Zealander's) cooked their wedding feast in the sand. If this sounds familiar to any McIntosh's I would love to know more about where they came from and where they went. I moved to Australia in 1989. (it's warmer here !!!) Love the site. good work

My gr.gr.grandfather was Robert Mackintosh, born in Newton of Petty, 1799. He married Margaret McDonald, b. 1803. They had four children, Alexander(1829), John(1831), Robert(1833), and Margaret(1835). My gr. grandfather was John(1831), born Newton of Petty. He married Jessie McGillvray, and they had one living son, John(b. 1871), who came to the U.S. when he was about 20 years old. My great grandparents moved to Nairn, where my gr.father was born. They lived at Clanchatton, 18 Albert St., according to his will. Margaret married Charles Butler, from 12 Simpson St., Nairn. They had a son who lived in Canada for a while. If anyone has any information at all about this family, would you please get in touch with me? This is a wonderful web site, and I was very sorry when I discovered that I had read the last letter!!

Hi, fellow MacIntoshes (Mc, Mack, etc.) My knowledge of my MacIntosh family tree is extremely limited, because my father (Bruce D. MacIntosh, Sr.) did not know his father (Ray MacIntosh). I do know that my father was born in Fergus Falls, MN, in 1930, and that (probably) his father's father immigrated to this country in the late 19th century, changing the spelling from McIntosh to MacIntosh, because he was "running from the law." (Whether that is true or not, I don't know... but it makes for a good story). If anyone has any connections to Minnesota MacIntoshes, or has a Ray MacIntosh in that area (born around 1900) in their lineage... please let me know!

This site is just what I wanted! I started looking up my own clan history while visiting England just last week, where I found lots of stores selling Tartans and such from different clans. My uncle has been working on our family tree for a very long time, and I believe he has made it back to the 1500s. If anyone would like a copy of this tree I could probably find it and scan it, to see if some of our paths cross.. (This tree traces us back to the McIntoshes)

Love the web site! I am just beginning to start a search for my family heritage and would really appreciate any info on the McIntoshes who settled in Cadiz, Kentucky. My ggrandfather's name was George Marion McIntosh...whom I hear was a wee bit on the mean side. He married a Lou Taylor (I'm not sure that's her real name...may be a nick name. He had three sons...Hayden, Otto (my grandfather....who died in Illinois sometime in the early 60's), and Bobby, all of which live(d) in East TN.)) There may be a fourth son, but I don't know his name if there is. If you, or any of our many McIntosh clansmen have any information concerning George Marion McIntosh and his ancestors I would be eternally grateful! Thanks for the web site.
