Candied Yam Casserole


3 cups cooked, mashed yams
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup softened butter
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup white flour
1/3 cup melted butter
2 tablespoons milk


Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.  Combine yams, sugar, eggs, butter, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl.  Mix well.  Pour yam mixture into a 9x13 baking dish.   In a medium bowl, blend all topping ingredients.  Pour topping mixture over the yam mixture.  Bake at 375 degrees F. for 25 minutes.


This recipe was passed down from Todd's sister, who got it from his grandmother, who got it from yet another family member.  Needless to say, it has been in the family for years... and for good reason.
