Ham Balls

Ingredients

1 1/3 pound cooked ham
2/3 pound ground pork
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup cracker crumbs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

Syrup
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon prepared mustard

Instructions

Grind ham and ground pork together.  You can use a food processor or even a mixer to grind the ham.  Add the beaten eggs, cracker crumbs, milk, salt, and pepper.  Mix well and mold into 3-inch balls.  Place ham balls into a 13x9-inch baking dish.  In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, vinegar, and mustard.   Mix well and pour the syrup over the ham balls.  Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Yield:  16 ham balls.

Comments

This family recipe comes from Todd's Aunt Donna.  She makes this dish every year at Easter.  A variation of this recipe uses 1 pound of ham and 1 pound of ground pork.
