2 46-ounce cans tomato juice
2 cans stewed tomatoes
3 16-ounce cans kidney beans
1/2 onion, diced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dried basil
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon red pepper
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
2 1/2 pounds hamburger
1 pound Italian sausage, ground
Combine tomato juice, tomatoes, onion, kidney beans, salts and spices in a large stew
pot or Dutch Oven. Simmer on medium heat. Brown hamburger and Italian sausage
in a skillet until thoroughly cooked. Drain meat and add to tomato juice mixture.
Simmer for approximately one hour.
This soup is easy to make and tastes delicious, especially on cold winter
evenings. Try serving it with grilled cheese sandwiches and a dollop of sour cream!
