Clan McIntosh


1964

The 35th annual reunion of the McIntosh Clan was held August 16, 1964, at the Legion Home in Keosauqua, Iowa with 45 present.

A basket dinner was held at noon with coffee and iced tea furnished by Margaret and Bruce Strait.

The business meeting was called to order by the President Hugh Barker. Bills were allowed and paid. Motion for present officers to hold over, seconded and carried. Committees named were: Card committee, Margaret Strait and Lenora McIntosh. Renting the hall, Ralph Barker. Ice and water, Wyatt McIntosh. Hugh Barker and Harry McIntosh told of their trip through the West.

1963

The 34th annual reunion of the McIntosh Clan was held August 18, 1963, at the Legion Home in Keosauqua, Iowa with 59 present.

A basket dinner was served at noon. Margaret Strait made the coffee and iced tea. Dinner over the business meeting was called to order by the President Hugh Barker. Bills presented were: coffee and cream $1.25, ice 50ยข, and rent for the hall $10.00. Bills allowed and paid.

Renting the hall will be Ralph Barker, coffee and cream, Margaret Strait, and ice, Wyatt McIntosh. Present officers held over another year. A letter was read by Lloyd F. Gray from Francis McIntosh explaining his work on the family tree he is working on. He was still wanting many names of each branch of the family.

The meeting was adjourned.

1962

The 33rd annual reunion of the McIntosh Clan was held the l9th of August 1962 at the Legion Home in Keosauqua, Iowa.

A bountiful dinner was served at 12:30 noon and it was served cafeteria style. Hugh Barker returned the thanks. There were 45 who signed the registration book.

The afternoon meeting was called to order by President Hugh Barker. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. All committees reporting and reports accepted. Committees appointed for the next year: Hall Ralph Barker. Coffee and cream will be Margaret Strait. Ice will be Wyatt McIntosh.

Alice Dell Robbins took the responsibility of having entertainment for the young people. She conducted sack races, balloon games, and soft ball. She also provided prizes for the participants.

A roll call was taken to learn how many descendants of the older generation were present. They were; Frank McIntosh 14, Morris McIntosh 3, William McIntosh 14, John W. McIntosh 6, and Cassie McIntosh Barker 6. A letter was read by Alice Dell Robbins from Francis McIntosh (grandson of Minnie McIntosh), concerning his work on a family history. Also wanting any information as to birth dates of all members and their families.

We were entertained by some dance numbers by Ellen Marie and Roy Robbins, great grandchildren of Minnie McIntosh. Glenda and Sherry Davis, great grandchildren of Ida Boyd. Lots of visiting and reminiscing filled the rest of the afternoon.

1962 balance $11.70, collection $11.25 for a total of $23.25. Rent for the hall $7.50. Balance for 1963 is $15.75.

1961

The 32nd annual reunion of the McIntosh Clan was held the 20th of August 1961, at the Legion Hall in Keosauqua, Iowa with 50 members of the clan.

The meeting was called to order by the vice president Harry McIntosh, and the prayer by Charlie Murphy. Reports of the committees were presented and accepted. Coffee, cream and the ice were donated. Bills for cards and rent of the hall were presented and allowed.

Meeting for next year to be 3rd Sunday in August at Keosauqua Legion Home. Moved and seconded that past office holding system be rescinded. Next business was election of officers for the year 1962. Hugh Barker, president; Bruce Strait, vice president; Lenora McIntosh, secretary; and Wyatt McIntosh, treasurer. Committees for 1962 are rent hall, Ralph Barker; coffee and cream, Margaret Strait; ice, Wyatt McIntosh; and the game committee with Alice Dell Robbins in charge.

Alice Dell Robbins showed some pictures taken in California of her father and mother, Horrell and Alice, which were enjoyed by all. The rest of the afternoon was spent visiting and recalling memories of the past.

The 1961 balance was $10.06 with the collection of $11.02, total $21.08. Bills allowed: hall $7.50, cards $1.88 with a total of $9.38. The 1962 balance is $11.70.

1960

The 31st annual reunion of the McIntosh Clan was held August 21, 1960, at the Legion Hall in Keosauqua, Iowa. There were 58 in attendance from Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri. A bountiful dinner was served at noon with lots of good coffee and iced tea to drink.

The meeting was called to order by the president. Minutes of the lst reunion held in September of 1927 were read. There were 105 present for the reunion that year. Secretary's report was read and approved. Treasurer's report was read and approved also.

Margaret reported sending 7 cards during the year. The bills for coffee, ice, invitations, and the cards were donated. Bill for rent of the hall of $7.50 was allowed. Balance on hand $4.65, collection $12.91. All committees to hold over, Ralph Barker to rent the hall. Don and Dana with the coffee, Wyatt with the ice and water. Registration book passed for record and addresses.

The meeting was adjourned and the afternoon was spent visiting with relatives and listening to music. Leslie McIntosh and his friend Lee Carroll from Memphis entertained with piano and violin.

Good-byes were said for another year.
