2009

The 80th Annual Clan McIntosh Reunion was held at the Stone Lodge in Keosauqua, Iowa, on Sunday, September 20, 2009. Over 45 people attended the reunion, enjoying a potluck dinner, visiting, and renewing family ties.

The reunion attendees this year were treated to a selection of Scottish bagpipe music, performed by John Grunwald of Bonaparte, Iowa, and two other pipers. The pipers were dressed in full Scottish regalia and played several songs right before the meeting.

President Jeneale Zumdome presided over the meeting and read a passage from the Bible - 1 Corinthians 13:1-3.

Secretary Todd McIntosh read the 2008 meeting minutes, and they were approved.

Treasurer Louise House read the treasurer’s report which was approved with $1,297.81 left in the treasury.

Todd McIntosh read a letter from Francis “Mac” McIntosh, who was not able to attend this year due to health issues and the cost of traveling from California.

In new business, Clan McIntosh officers were elected as follows:

  • President: Jeneale Zumdome of Fort Madison, Iowa
  • Vice-president: Duane Barker of Keosauqua, Iowa
  • Secretary: Todd McIntosh of Allen, Texas

Treasurer Louise House read the treasurer’s report which was approved with $1,297.93 left in the treasury.

The 78th Annual Clan McIntosh Reunion was held at the Lacey-Keosauqua State Park Lodge in Keosauqua, Iowa, on Sunday, September 16th, 2007

The business meeting was called to order at 2:03 p.m. by Francis McIntosh. Bill McIntosh, President, was unable to attend due to recent illness. Todd McIntosh, Secretary, was also unable to attend and Jo Ann Zimmerman acted in his absence. There were 43 persons in attendance.

Francis McIntosh read from the Bible – 1 Corinthians 13:1-3. The 2006 minutes were read and approved. The treasurer’s report was read by Louise House and approved with a balance of $30.15. It was noted that there is further money to come from the previous treasurer, who was not present. That amount will be included in next years report.

In new business, Clan McIntosh officers were elected as follows:

  • President: Jeneale Zumdome of Fort Madison, Iowa
  • Vice-president: Duane Barker of Keosauqua, Iowa
  • Secretary: Todd McIntosh of Allen, Texas

2006

The 77th Annual Clan McIntosh Reunion was held at the Lacey-Keosauqua State Park Lodge in Keosauqua, Iowa, on Sunday, September 17th, 2006. Over 50 people attended the reunion, enjoying a potluck dinner, visiting, and renewing family ties. The weather was cooler and somewhat rainy, which led to a lower attendance than in previous years.

President Bill McIntosh presided over the meeting. Bill read a passage from the old family Bible of Sandra Lee Troutman (McIntosh), dated January 6, 1952. He read from Psalms 127, verse 3 to Psalms 128, verse 3.

Secretary Todd McIntosh read the minutes of the meeting in 2005, and they were approved with an amendment. The treasurer’s report was not read since Treasurer Donna Nelson was not present.

Mac McIntosh talked briefly about the importance of getting your DNA typed. He offered more information to anyone who requested it.

LuRee Runnells of West Burlington, Iowa and Gary and Melva McIntosh of Graham, Missouri were first-time attendees.

John Grunwald and Greg Francisco, dressed in typical Scottish attire, provided bagpipe music for all to enjoy.

In new business, Clan McIntosh officers were elected as follows:
President: Bill McIntosh of Lebanon, Illinois
Vice-president: Ron McIntosh of Farmington, Iowa
Secretary: Todd McIntosh of Allen, Texas
Treasurer: Louis House of Keosauqua, Iowa.

A motion was made and seconded to hold next year’s reunion at Lacey-Keosauqua State Park Lodge in Keosauqua again. The motion carried.

Several hand-thrown and decorated Clan McIntosh commemorative plates, made by Brian McIntosh of Monmouth, Illinois, were auctioned off for to the highest bidders, bring in $280 for our Clan Treasury.

2004

The 75th Annual Clan McIntosh Reunion was held at City Park in Canton, Missouri, on Sunday, September 19th, 2004.  Over 100 people attended the reunion, enjoying a potluck dinner, visiting, and renewing family ties.  President Bill McIntosh presided over the meeting.  He read a passage from the 1882 family Bible of Daniel Boone McIntosh – John 10:14.

Mac McIntosh gave a brief talk about the importance of getting your DNA typed. One company in Houston, called Family Tree DNA, is the world leader in the field of Genetic Genealogy that enables many genealogists around the world to advance their families' research.

Todd McIntosh read the minutes of the meeting in 2003, and they were approved.  The treasurer’s report was read by Donna Nelson, which was then approved with $1391.00 left in the treasury.

Five silver Clan McIntosh commemorative plates with an engraved crest of Clan McIntosh, brought by Todd McIntosh of Allen, Texas , were auctioned off for $60 each to:  Rex McIntosh, Vicki Lair, Billy Ray Harkey, and Frances Garrells (2).

A commemorative glass with an etched crest of Clan McIntosh brought by Todd McIntosh of Allen, Texas , was auctioned off  to David McIntosh for $40. 

Two Clan McIntosh shirts were auctioned off for $25 each to Jeneale Zumedome and Vicki Lair. 

Two old-fashioned oval portraits of Thomas Brewster McIntosh and Rebecca Ellen Fitzgerald McIntosh were auctioned off for $50 to Marilyn Garrrels.

After the auction, F.W. “Mac” McIntosh conducted a raffle, which raised $450. 

With $450 from the auctions, and $225 from the raffle, $675 was raised for our Clan Treasury.

The 74th Annual Clan McIntosh Reunion was held at Indian Lake Park Stone Lodge in Farmington, Iowa, on Sunday, September 28th, 2003. Over 115 people attended the reunion, enjoying a potluck dinner, visiting, and renewing family ties.

President Bill McIntosh presided over the meeting. Jeneale Zumdome read a passage from the 1882 family Bible of Daniel Boone McIntosh – Matthew 11:25-30.

Todd McIntosh read the minutes of the meeting in 2002, and they were approved. The treasurer’s report was read by Donna Nelson, which was then approved with $1,318 left in the treasury.

Alice Dell Robbins motioned that we hire a photographer for the 75th McIntosh Reunion. Bill Harkey seconded the motion. Motion carried.

F.W. “Mac” McIntosh brought a special guest, Betty Kerr, a member of Clan Kerr.

Jeneale McIntosh attended Lealin Boecker’s funeral as a representative of Clan McIntosh.

Carl Johnson of Calleo, Missouri, is moving to Hollywood, California, to study acting. Carl was previously in the Spiderman movie with Toby McGuire.

A Clan McIntosh commemorative plate, created by Brian McIntosh of Monmouth, Illinois, was auctioned off to Jim Garrells for $80.00. A short film collection by Carl Johnson was auctioned off to Alice McIntosh for $35.00.

After the auction, F.W. “Mac” McIntosh conducted a raffle, which raised $180. With $115 from the auctions, $180 from the raffle, and a $15 donation, $310 was raised for our Clan Treasury.

The 73rd Annual Clan McIntosh Reunion was held at the Lacey-Keosauqua State Park Lodge in Keosauqua, Iowa, on Sunday, September 15th, 2002. Over 120 people attended the reunion, enjoying a potluck dinner, visiting, and renewing family ties.

President Craig McIntosh presided over the meeting. Julie Jo Garrels read a passage from the Bible – Luke 3:3-6.

Todd McIntosh read the minutes of the meeting in 2001, and they were approved. The treasurer’s report was read by Donna Nelson, which was then approved with $1,222.00 left in the treasury.

Jo Ann Zimmerman talked about the “Best of Scotland” tour that she is helping to organize. The tour will take place on July 20-29, 2003, and the itinerary includes Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, Blair Castle, Loch Ness, Glencoe, Glasgow, and many other places.

F.W. “Mac” McIntosh announced the availability of the Clan McIntosh Genealogy book on CD.

In new business, the election of new officers was held. New officers were elected as follows:

The 72nd Annual Clan McIntosh Reunion was held at the O-Mak-O-Hac Park Shelter House in Kahoka, Missouri, on Sunday, September 16th, 2001.  Over 100 people attended the reunion, enjoying a potluck dinner, visiting, and renewing family ties.

President Craig McIntosh presided over the meeting.  Dave Trone read a passage from the Bible – John 5:5-9.

Sarah McIntosh read the minutes of the meeting in 2000, and they were approved.  The treasurer’s report was read by Donna Nelson, which was then approved with $1,023.00 left in the treasury.

Craig McIntosh then talked about the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington.  He asked for a moment of silence in honor of the victims.  Many members of the clan could not make it to the reunion because of the attacks and subsequent airline cancellations.  Nonetheless, 106 family members were in attendance.

Old business:  Craig McIntosh presented Bill McIntosh with a belt buckle that Bill had asked him to have specially engraved.

New business: No new business was discussed.

A raffle, followed by an auction, raised $439 for our Clan Treasury.

Over 140 people attended the reunion, enjoying a potluck dinner, visiting, and renewing family ties. The reunion attendees this year were treated to a selection of Scottish bagpipe music, performed by John Grunwald of Bonaparte, Iowa, and Robbie Stinson of Douds, Iowa. The pipers were dressed in full Scottish regalia and played several songs right before dinner was served.

President Bill McIntosh presided over the meeting. Jeneale Zumdome read a passage from the Bible – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. The pipers then played a stirring rendition of “Amazing Grace”. F.W. “Mac” McIntosh then presented Jeneale Zumdome with a wildcat pin for her years of service as Clan Treasurer. Bill McIntosh thanked the pipers for their performance.

The reading of the 1999 minutes were read and approved. The treasurer’s report was read and approved with $736 left in the treasury. Bill McIntosh then talked about Center Chapel Cemetery and said that the money in the treasury has been used to purchase new headstones to replace those that have been damaged or decayed by time.

In new business, the election of new officers was held. New officers were elected as follows:

  • Ronald McIntosh, Farmington, Iowa - Vice-president
  • Todd McIntosh, Plano, Texas - Secretary
  • Donna Nelson, Canton, Missouri - Treasurer

Three engraved Shaeffer Pens, donated by Sandra McIntosh, were auctions off to Angie Schaller, Alice Robbins, and Jan Carroll, for a total of $106.

A handsome pewter whiskey flask, engraved with McIntosh Family Reunion 2000, was auctioned off to the highest bidder. Mark Zumdone had the high bid of $155. Mark and his brothers, John and Jodi, purchased the flask as a 65th birthday present for their mother, Jeneale.
